"PROJETO CAMINHANDO"



This project is developing in Brasil, more specifically in São Paulo. It has as main objective facilitate the social inclusion of people with disability through education and work.
At the beginning, the organization of the project renovated an old building to carry out their activies. For this, they got help from his formers students and their parents. After all this events, the organization, decided to improve the school and demanded the municipality a place more appropriate for their students than an old built. With the help of parents, families and community, "Caminhando" made a petition and with this one they got the concession of an area for the constrution of the school building.
Now, with the new building the institution promoted an another project: "Programa de Iniciação Profissional". This one tries to help this disabled adolescents to enter to a "work market" and, as a result of that, become more independent.
During this 20 years of existence, the project has worked very well because it has been able to fulfill their objective: the social inclusion of this students.
